number one illustration
BERIS BLAKE.
currently exhibiting at college.i love these (pictures to follow). they use a similar colour pallette to that of marcel dzama (january blog). i feel the blake hasn't tried to make them anything other than what they are, they are not contrived, they are honest and soley for the pleasure of the artist (and audience). once again, i'm enjoying his use of ill proportion and naivity. as it's somthing i don't tend to employ, using this type of colour range could be beneficial within my work.
DHP

recently attended the private view of 'dan has potential' exhibition at concrete hermit. small, intimate venue with free drinks and likeable work: vibrant, primitive, decorative. these are elements i also like my work to have. HOWEVER, it's not much of a step towards advancing my skillz. still, i'm pleased i went; purchased another zine to add my book collection and it's nice to see others are appreciating this type of work.
TUTORIAL.
as you can see my work has become somewhat simplified. my tutors are really keen for me to E-X-P-A-N-D upon my work,'your drawings are amazing but you don't particualrly do anything difficult,do you know what i mean? how can you take your work further, jade?'
therefore, like my good friend SHORDANNA,i've decided to apply alternative processes to my work. i'm thinking more detailed illustrations? i'm going to do some research and see what comes to mind.
